Newsletter for June 2005 Getting it ALL from Flexo The above one day conference was held on the 25th of May at the Holiday Inn Johannesburg International, and was attended by over 60 delegates from around the country Delegates included graphic designers, and representatives from repro houses, suppliers Flexo printers and their sales representatives as well as end users. Report back from delegates were that they all found it interesting and useful, while the less technical in the audience found one or two of the papers a little "daunting". The Executive Secretary does have a very few CD's of the presentations, for those who could not make it, on a first come basis, for R50 each. MAPPP Seta Of interest to all Workplace Skills Facilitators the MAPPP Seta has just issued the revised forms for the Year 6 1ST Quarterly Training Report (April to June 2005) and the Cash Grant Claim form for the same period. See the MAPPP Seta website for details Note that no claims will be processed unless MAPPP Seta has the companies Workplace Skills Plan for this year 2005 Excellence in Flexo Printing Awards Entry forms for the above competition were placed in the May editions of "Packaging Review" and "Graphix" and also copies have been sent by mail to all members Entry Forms will also be placed in the NEW "African Packaging Review" magazine due out in August If you require more, or would like a copy (The competition is open to all Flexographic printers in AFRICA) e-mail the Executive Secretary on ftasa@telkomsa.net Started in 2004, there again will be a trophy for the best Flexo print on any substrate from outside South Africa "The Out Of Africa" trophy. Lets have your entries Africa! Closing date for entries is the 30th September 2005. No late entries will be accepted The Awards Luncheon will be in Johannesburg on the 8th November. Book this date in your dairy NOW Training There are still a few places available for the 4 day residential training course being run in conjunction with the DFTA training college in Stuttgart Germany The course will be held at the Cross Media Training College, Honeydew, just outside of Johannesburg from the 28th August.
